EU Domestic Upgrade on BA while on AA itinerary?

Greetings all,

Flying BA (HAM-LHR) & AA (LHR-MIA) tomorrow. Is there a way to upgrade to business class on the BA leg (HAM-LHR) as an AAdvantage EXP?

What are the options (miles, paid upgrade, request at airport check in?)

(FYI tried to do it on the BA website but to no avail)

Thanks for any info

HAM-LHR is not a domestic flight - you could ask at checkin whether you can pay to upgrade to business class, but I really wouldn't waste the money - the seats are the same as economy just with an empty middle seat. I would just select an exit seat and be more comfortable than in business class

You could use AA miles if this is in Y class

BA has an AUP program (there is a thread in the BA forum) whereby at check-in they will quote you a price for an upgrade. As noted above it's not worth much in Europe, but for a TATL flight it could be.
