Origin of catering CDG-JFK
 

Traveling in Business from CDG-JFK in a few weeks.

Could someone tell me where the food from CDG--->US comes from? Is it from the US or France?

J meals CDG-XXX are probably sourced locally, but never memorable for good reasons.

My advice: Get to CDG early. The French (and I love them) love to strike (En grieve).

Have breakfast in the AC. It is very good. Sometimes they have a wine and cheese cart, manned by the AC staff, all of whom have probably forgotten more about wine, cheese, and wine and cheese pairings than I could ever hope to remember!

At 10, go to the CX lounge, if you are not already there the (AC can get loud) for the outstanding noodles and Dim Sum.

Then go to your plane stuffed.

Trust me, you will thank me (I do this once or twice a month).

Not sure if I would get up early for breakfast at the AC lounge living in France but the CX Dim Sum and noodles... well...

AA uses Servair (below) - same company that caters for AF but probably with a lesser budget

Catering in all classes ex-CDG is decent. It's been over a year since I flew in Economy but for the past 7 years I had no issues with the food at all.

I'm intrigued by this post; do any airlines cater the return portion of lonhagul flights at their originating city? Seems like it wouldn't make sense from a food safety and handling point of view.

AF (allegedly) caters parts of the F meal for LAX and SFO (Fois Gras) out of CDG, since they cannot source it in California (I say allegedly, since I've heard this, but never seen a credible source either way).

I have also heard that certain destinations in the TK network are catered round trip, although in my personal experience I've never seen this (again, absent a definitive source, I suspect this is just rumors).

I would add that I have on occasion received US-made (not imported) food on flights TO the US... given that some of these meals are frozen for months in advance it would not shock me. That said, I am no expert in food storage policies/procedures!

I don't want to eat non-organic American food, period. It's poison.
Hence my question. rGBH pumped-up beef, antibiotic-fed chicken and Glysophate-laden produce, no.

This could devolve into a long conversation which is off-topic... my question was simply where the food comes from.

To answer your question, most definitely the food out of CDG is not organic. But I will sure as heck take non-organic European food over non-organic American food.

A few examples and I will leave it at that (watch Food Inc sometime...):

1) American beef is pumped up with rGBH hormones and a host of other carcinogenic substances which are banned by health organizations worldwide
2) American poultry is pumped up with antibiotics
3) There are almost 1000 pesticides/herbicides which are commonly used in the US and are banned worldwide

Most Americans don't know or care about this- it's simply my personal preference, just don't want to eat it...
