STL 737max gone
Anyone know where the AA 737 Max that has been parked on the western hanger apron has gone?

Pa FAA took the MAX ‘round back while Ma Boeing told everyone that MAX went to the farm and that one day it would return soon.
We all knew better.

I believe AA is storing there MAXs in Tulsa and Roswell. Most have been there for a few months now.

One has been parked at STL for the last number of months. It is now gone.

After this much time, would the FAA need to grant a specific waiver for a repositioning flight like this? I thought grounded meant...grounded.

It is only grounded for passenger carrying flights. Ferry flights are still allowed.

Wonder how the ferry pilots feel about flying these birds
id be less than thrilled. Do they get danger pay or something to entice them to pick up the flight?

Burn some extra fuel an fly with flaps down till cruising?
Have a co-pilot who is a weightlifter, or else bring a crowbar.?
Seriously, the concern is overdone. There is a real issue with the max, But not that serious they can not ferry it.

I'm pretty sure Boeing is also flying them - the production line is slowed, not stopped, and there isn't really any storage space at Renton

Pilots are well familiarized with the MCAS now, and especially crew who want/need flight hours, I doubt much concern is given. There may be some like you that are less than thrilled, but if it was really unsafe the union would have stood up to block it.
Heck, maybe Boeing sends pilots out?

Can't MCAS simply be disabled? (Yes, I know the answer.... it just seemed logical that if it was a problem, there should be a way)

Or are we SURE one was there all along? All the reports I had read before (and just re-read) did not mention any of the 24 MAX8 aircraft being at STL.
