BA F - book via AA or BA?
Hi All,
I'm currently EP in EP challenge and need to spend 20,000 additional EQMs and $2800 EQDs. I have a trip coming up to LHR in F (A fare) and I'm debating which option to book:
Option 1:
Your Status: EP
EQMs: 7330
EQSs: 2
EQDs: 4050 (base fare price)
Base Miles: 20250
Bonus Miles: 24300
Total Miles: 44500
I'm not really sure how much I will earn if I book with BA
Questions:
1) Is my calculation for AA earning correct?
2) What's the expected earning if booking with BA?
3) Which option would you opt for?
Thanks!

- Priced at 5,400 USD (After 10% chaseba10 discount)

- Priced at 6,000 USD

Is this a One Way to LHR because otherwise cannot see how you'd only get 7330 EQMs? Either way the EQD in BA will be much lower as it would be 30% of distance traveled, which if you earn 7330 means distance is 3665 miles and thus you'd only get ~1100 EQDs. you'd also earn more RDMs with the AA ticket so if you're not hurting for the $600 and want to get the challenge EQDs sorted I'd book the AA code.

We really can only speculate to some degree since you’ve not given the origin.
EQM = 2 EQM per mile flown in A on AA or BA.
EQD = fare and carrier imposed fees on AA, 30% of flown miles on BA
Segment credit would be the same
Award miles = based on your status and you also enjoy a class of cabin bonus?

I joined aarp, but the ba discount is only for Y and J travel, not F.
this is RT but again it’s possible my calc is incorrect
this is IAD-LHR
