I think JFK is really a joy to connect T8-T8. The customs lines are never too long and with GE I can get from plane to lounge in 20mins, unlike ORD or LAX I need to do a terminal transfer.
The biggest problem is that AA has mostly given up in JFK (and in NYC in general). They canceled a lot of connecting frequencies from JFK so now people are stuck with a JFK-LGA inter-terminal transfer, which in turn makes their international expansion from JFK difficult.

AA has made their decision. JFK will be smaller with O&D traffic only. Nostalgia is fun, but it doesn't pay the bills. Dougie is looking for hubs/flights that will actually make money. PHL is the East Coast International hub now -- that won't change in the foreseeable future.

LO very randomly flies ORD-BUD 2x weekly (Tu/S) - I would be shocked if there were not subsidies involved here. Depending on how long they're provided, the route may last a second year beyond the first, but I think this flight is the least likely of the three ORD new flights to survive.
Having married into a Chicago family with Polish heritage, I learned that KRK is a more natural VFR destination for many O&D Chicago Poles than WAW, which LO already flies double-daily. I also think KRK POS could be a significant chunk of the traffic, as the 3x weekly LO flight is the only TATL the airport has in a catchment area of ~2mm.
Not sure what to make of PRG, other than it might have a chance of success as UA doesn't already fly it out of ORD and it offers a lot of one-stop routings not currently available on any airline, given that a connection is required in NYC or PHL for domestic feeders.
As for PHL, it isn't necessarily a terrible airport to transit -- it's the agents that are hands-down the worst in the system.
