Time For AA Account Updating
Last week I was on a flight from STL-LAX-SFO. My flight credit and mileage was updated while I was on layover in LAX. I have never had this happen so quickly. My LAX-SFO segment took about a day to register. I have noticed that often activity takes 2-3 days to register. Has anyone else noticed this? First segment pretty snappy--back flying today and am interested to see if this continues.

I’ve noticed over the past month or so that flights are almost always posted within 24 hours and often same day. Occasionally, as when DFW or ORD have a lot of issues from thunderstorms it will take a couple of days. I wonder if this is station dependent or if this centrally updated?

My sfo-Dow flight today posted within an hour of landing here at DFW. This is definitely a change. I also notice a lag when there are flight disruptions.

I've also noticed the change.
I'm used to seeing DL update immediately after landing and was surprised to see AA to have at least a same day update, perhaps sooner.

It’s been instant posting for a while now. Some of us old road warriors remember the bad ole days when it took weeks to post and half the time your stuff never posted and you had to mail in boarding passes. As much as we love to complain about when crap goes wrong flying today, one has to admit that when things go right, it’s pretty fabulous!

Actually it seems to be all over the map. My Sunday LAX/MIA flight didn't post until Tuesday AM. My Saturday flight didn't post until Sunday afternoon. Sometimes flights post near immediately, sometimes it's back to the old days. With most of AA's technology consistency is not it's trademark.

No issues for me with timing but for some reason about a month's worth of AA activity was posting as "Method: Mileage" and was significantly messing up my mileage earning. A quick call to the AAdvantage desk, the agent logged a ticket and within 10 days it was all resolved. It looks like the whatever fix was made has corrected subsequent postings. But it was a real head scratcher why AA metal flights weren't posing based on the fare for a few weeks for me.
