This is fabulous. My top customer is based in Cincinnati which means no more connections or driving from CMH. Wish it was yearly but I'll take it.

I think you meant to say year-round! I doubt a once-a-year flight would be tremendously useful for you.

Good to have more non-stop choices to/from PHX. Personally I would have rather seen a CVG-LAX non-stop.

As far as connections are concerned, does PHX offer any destinations that DFW does not? It doesn't appear these flights are scheduled to work well with connections, though.

While exciting, kind of sad at the same time. America West, American's predecessor in Phoenix, had, as one of its very first destinations when it very first started flying, multiple daily nonstop flights to Colorado Springs. Now 30+ years later COS is only a seasonal city? While it's nice that the service is there, kinda sad.

As Patty Loveless once sang:
Life's about changing nothing ever stays the same... how can I help you to say goodbye? It's okay to hurt and it's okay to cry.

The FLL route was only recently removed from the AA timetable. HP, then US, then AA traditionally served this route twice daily (usually a mix of 320's and 321's) and sometimes with a third redeye added in peak travel seasons. In my non-scientific observations from flying this route for years, much of the traffic was OD or ultimately destined to southern California. Also completely unscientifically speaking, I feel that Alaska has picked up much of this traffic.

CVG does work with connections. Early flights out of West Coast cities connect to Eastbound flight. Westbound CVG connects to evening bank to West Coast. PHX-COS/FAR/FLL will offer connecting opportunities, but the return flights really don't (unless AA schedules their peak late-night banks, which have disappeared recently).

I don't think any of these routes are new, perhaps PHX-FAR. I think HP flew that at some point but I'm not 100%.
I do know HP did PHX-COS (I didn't realize it had stopped), and HP did PHX-FLL for many years, that continued past the US merger.
DL did PHX-CVG when CVG was a hub (I flew it at least once). I don't remember if HP or US did it though.

Actually, both HP & US never flown PHX-CVG, but DL did. As for FLL, they has already flown FLL-PHX for over decades since HP was first nonstop flight.

PHX-COS lasted a little beyond the merger, I remember a friend of mine flying it in 2008, but was axed quickly there after. US cut a few HP routes (IAD and BDL as well come to mind) and it's nice seeing AA bringing some of them back. Hopefully they go year round.
