Planes not on the website
Last Thursday, I stood by for an earlier flight on the Shuttle from LGA to DCA. I was scheduled to fly on an Embraer ERJ-175 @ 10 a.m. and got an earlier ERJ-175 @ 9 a.m. However, the 10 a.m. plane, which I saw out the window as we taxied to the runway, was either an A319 or A320 ( I couldn't distinguish the differences) but nowhere on the website are Airbuses flying between these two cities.
On Friday, I stood by for an earlier flight on the Shuttle from DCA to LGA.I was scheduled to fly on an Embraer ERJ-175 @ 4 p.m a.m. and got an earlier ER-170 @ 3 p.m. The AA website shows the 3 p.m. flight to be an ERJ-175. Nowhere does it indicate that ER-170s fly between these two cities. American Way shows all American Aircraft but there is no Embraer 170 on the list. Can anyone explain these discrepancies? |

Is this the flight you're referring to? Seems to operate as an E190. The other morning flights are (Republic Air-operated) E75L/S and E170 or AA-operated E190. |

Yes, it is pretty hard to tell the difference between those two!

If your questions relate to the DCA/LGA/BOS shuttle, we have a dedicated thread on that:
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/amer...a-shuttle.html Back in the US Airways days, it had been run by dedicated A319 aircraft that had special shuttle liveries. |

321 is noticeably longer than the 320.
The one I have difficulty with is spotting the difference between the 310 and 300. |

Yes, but it was an Embraer 175, not a E190.

Thank you for the information.
I'm incredibly lazy and did not have the patience to read 200+ posts. Next time! |
FYI the easiest way to tell the difference is A319's only have 1 over-wing exit, whereas A320 has 2.

you must be flying on some obscure airlines because not too many (passenger) airlines still fly these. |

they only ones I see at airports are cargo. Doesn't FX and UPS fly both?
FexEx has mostly A-300F4-600R and a few A-310 UPS has only the A-300F4-600R (also known as A-300-600RF) |
For reference, AA (or its regional carriers, for that matter) does not operate any E70s. The ones flown by Republic were parked awhile ago when Republic filed for bankruptcy. Distinguishing between an E90 and E75 would be pretty simple by the exterior, as the E90 would say “American” and the E75 would say “American Eagle.” |
