Number of AA Business seats

Does anyone know how many J seats AA has? I know they are ripping them out of planes and this makes redeeming miles for them in saver or redeeming an SWU that much harder. I just wonder how their J inventory looks like compared to DL and UA's.

They’ve finished downsizing the Business cabins on aircraft they’ve installed Premium Economy on, such as the 772 (45 to 37) or 788 (28 to 20).

To your question, I doubt anyone has those figures in their head.

The Wikipedia page for AA'S fleet lists all of their aircraft types, how many there are, and their corresponding configuration, so one should be able to get it from there: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amer...#Current_fleet

With that said, for SWUS, etc other things than total # of seats matter significantly, as this only captures supply not demand. The ratio of total seats to business class seats may be a better one, although still imperfect.

Quick widebody J research from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Airlines_fleet (no. of 757s is only inclusive of "Version 1" with FF Business seats as per https://sites.google.com/site/newame...boeing-757-200).

Unhappy

On their 767's can we really call it a "J" seat? Yea, it's flat but it's also like laying on concrete. Just flew N384AA this past Sunday - OUCH!
This 25 year old relic should have been converted to beer cans by now.

Compared to what? British Airways Club Europe 3 x 3 at 31” with centre seat blocked, where many are better off in a Euro Traveller exit seat?

This.

The 77W has 8F and 52J and routinely goes out to HKG with 0 upgrades cleared. Meanwhile 20J to PEK is a near guarantee.

Sorry JD, but I just considering AA since the topic is discussing that fleet

Funny you should say that.. however from a BA thread on their LOI on the 737 MAX:

Alas, no. Beverage cans require a very special alloy of aluminium which is unsuitable for aircraft use. It actually has the opposite properties to aircraft aluminium and structural parts, beverage aluminium is very soft and ductile. The max could be useful for making a lot of Ford F150's though.

I avoid the 767 J seats (and flights) on both AA and DL if at all possible. When you compare across fleets DL has a lot more of these to avoid. DL has 77, UA has 53 and AA has 21.
