Most EQM without hitting EXP EQD requirement?

wondering who has racked up the most EQMs without getting to $15k. Just got off HKG-DFW in F (SWU’d from J) and i’m at ~124k EQM, but still shy of the EQD 😂. Seems the premium cabin mileage run deals forum has been TOO good.

After DFW-MEX in J now at 125,855 EQM and still only $14,125 EQD. I MAY be able to fly MEX-DFW-JFK (purchased Y, DFW-JFK cleared upgrade already) AND JFK-CDG-JFK (Y SWU’d both ways to J) before hitting $15k which would be 135,450 EQM, i’d be tens of dollars from the limit if still under and I suppose so close that my NCE-LGW BA Y flight would do it but that would be pretty good value i’d say!

I find that a ratio of 10:1 fro EQM:EQD is very stable for my international travel. So, I am currently expecting to reach 15 000 EQDs as I reach 150 000 EQMs.

I recall the bad old days before revenue based status on AA when I was spending $20k+ on travel annually and sitting in the back as a PLT while the premium cabin was filled with bloggers and mileage runners who got to EXP for $3k on mistake fares and mileage runs.

To answer your question, I never had the issue you cite, just the opposite - spending lots and not hitting the mileage requirement. Thankfully that’s no longer the case.

Multi-regional fares can yield 30+ EQMs per EQDs . Maximizing SWUs early in the year can make your EQDs look pretty poor for domestic comp upgrade list if you did not have a lot of EQDs later in the year before.

I am at 160K miles and short of $$$ spend by about $3000, but with a trip to BOM from ATL on QR, in late July should cover that

Ah, yes! I think bloggers (with the exception of ThePointsGuy) are the spammers of the air travel industry. But, I have also done a Mileage/EQD run (or 6), and a Mattress run, over the years. The EXP/Starwood benefits then were worth the time and $.

Now, if one can rationalize the declining benefits, one should go for it.

OH! If you hit 150K in EQMs, you get 2 additional SWU's.

Just sayin'

It amazes me the fares you all find. I’m barely touching 50k eqm but spent $14k to get there. My $ spend though is putting me right at the top of upgrade lists though

ill be well north of $20k-$30k by end of year and just make 100k eqm
