Just made EXP / Executive Platinum! Resources, ask questions, brag (2019+)

First, a hearty welcome to Executive Platinum status!

New Executive Platinum members, whether "self-made", via your Concierge Key nomination or made by AA offers, including challenges, to similar status holders from competing airlines, often have questions about how the program works.

Feel free to post your questions here, but also be aware many of your questions about American Airlines, AAdvantage and Executive Platinum status can be answered in these resources:

Thx. I suppose it'd be foolish to stop at 194k then...

Crossed 100k EQM yesterday, but I’m still only at $12.5k EQD. ☹️

You would be over the line before the increased EQD requirement this year.

Tell me about it… I've been over 100k EQM for months but still won't be hitting the EQD requirements for a while. Not worried about it, it's only June and past 15k EQDs provide minimal value.

Just another enhancement from our "friends" at AA that totally care about their FFs!

Sort of -- you earn a choice of award at 150K and 200K, and one of those choices is 2 SWU. But they aren't automatically added like they were in the past. There is also an award choice at 250K. But sadly, the 300K incentive from last year seems to be gone.

just requalified but I'm contemplating adding another airline, since I have zero confidence I would get CK. (last year was $50K and 150KMQD and I started in March). which airline would you add if you lived in Boston? NYC, DC, Dallas, CHI are my mainstays in the US and the global is London, Rome, Singapore, Shanghai)

At 150k EQM
1. 2 SWU
2. 40,000 miles, or
3. Gift gold status

At 200k EQM:
1. 2 SWU
2. 40,000 miles, or
3. Gift platinum status

At the 300K mark you have the option to tell the mechanics which routes you are flying for one itinerary up to six segments long and they don't delay your flights.

That perk has been suspended during the current labor negotiations (or should I say the lack thereof?).

Making EP through challenge -- SWUs

I' currently inside the 90 days of a challenge, as part of the Hyatt crossover thing. My end date is mid-August. If I make EP through the challenge, will I get 4 SWUs to use through 31 January 2020, in addition to the 4 to use through 31 January 2021? The wiki and aa.com seem clear on this (yes); but just double-checking to make sure that there is not an exception or some such for folks qualifying through this or other challenges. TIA
