I just use the AC closest to my gate. Haven't been to the new DFW FL, but while they are nice, I wouldn't go out of the way. Most of the food looks better on the blogs that it actually tastes. I always prefer to be at the AC closer to my gate so I don't have to worry about getting there too late because of some shuttle delay or too early because i left too much time. YMMV

For OP's benefit as it appears that he's not familiar with DFW, SkyLink is the branded name of the airside inter-terminal tram/train link. There are two stops at each terminal. It is approximately 10 minutes to go around the entire loop and approximately 5 minutes from any SkyLink stop to the furthest gate it serves. Thus, you may want to allow as much as 15 minutes from FL to gate. But, someone at the FL will provide better advice once the gate itself is established.

Thanks for all your advice - I was not aware that the skylink is actually airside.
Given that I have GE, I am looking forward to a few nice hours at the FL then
Also good to hear that I can do something with my PP card at FLL, but I think I'll maximise pool time at the W there...

They also have the newer Centurion lounge right by the escalators to the skylink in D, DFW is an extremely easy airport to get from one end to the other in a short amount of time

Like many others I am a bit of an Avgeek so apron view would be great - but I guess they don't do Champagne for free?
Any opinions welcome - or maybe I will simply split my 5 hours 50/50

Ah thanks for pointing that out - as I have access there, I am wondering how that one compares to the Flagship Lounge?

I was in the new DFW-D AC this morning.......it's nice and very open. Love the quiet room all the way in the back. I could do without the cheezy music they play though.
Weird thing was I was trying to toast a bagel and the bagel never came out......same thing happened to another guy. We both gave up an walked away.

Experienced FFD prior to AA50 (LHR) today. Food was good. Service was lackluster. The team is well intentioned, but they clearly are not familiar with fine dining service. Perhaps I am expecting too much. We were the only people in the dining room aside from a couple others. When we left, there was only one diner. Time between salad course and entree was way too long.
The FL itself is beautiful. Well done, AA. Check-in to the lounge, however, was a mess. Long line with only one agent for a while and the agents had to review entry rules as the agents themselves were unfamiliar. The process of getting my party of 5 into FFD, all of whom appropriately qualified, was an over five-minute task for the agent. At first she wanted to “fill out” the entry slip (they write your name on it and then stamp it) and escort each of us one at a time, which elicited a protest from me. I suggested she do all of the slips and stamps at once which clearly didn’t excite her. Truly I had to ask her multiple times to do everyone at once.
Very disconnected and weird approach to service for a supposed premium experience.
The entry process reminded me of “a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds”.

I suppose I did notice in the email announcement from AA that mentioned there are separate entrances to the AC and FL, but I didn't realize you literally don't have the option of entering the FL from the AC.
I later found that the AC and FL are, in fact, connected. There's a check-in desk with an agent at the far end of the FL and a set of doors in front of the desk that apparently leads to the AC on the other side, which I learned after asking the friendly agent sitting at the desk what was beyond the doors. She told me the AC, but the doors "don't open" and she had no idea why but had been told to watch the door. She rolled her eyes, laughed, and said she thought it was strange. Interesting.
