Uniformed flight attendants in F, depart to Y when pax board

Two boarded, put their bags up and seated in 3AC now on 2223 to ohare. 10 minutes later, 2 passengers board start to hover over 3AC. The two flight attendants get up grab their bags and walk aft and take new seats way back.

What happened?

Could be the GA believed there would be 2 misconnects but pax arrived in time. In that case I wonder if others were on the upgrade list.

I’ve often tried the hover approach as well but then I remember that I need an actual ticket for a seat up front before moving on.

There were 44. As number 10 I didn't care but if I was number 1 and 2 I'd be very suspicious as to why those flight attendants were being seated.

After an engine on a TWA 1011 caught fire on a flight from STL to PHL. We boarded our new 1011 that was flown down from ORD about 6 hours later... FC was nearly empty.... So without hovering I just plopped myself into a FC seat and no one said a word...... Lesson learned.. avoid hovering....

Sitting in 8A I was simply looking forward and unless I closed my eyes I was going to see this no matter what. I was just curious that’s all.
