free agent Is not the same as boycotting American. An Exp cutting their AA flying in half will still be flying AA a lot.

Well folks, I appreciate the posts confirming that I was not, in fact, out of line in thinking this was a pretty f-ed up occurrence.

One detail I neglected to mention is that I probably see this guy once a month or so on this flight. So that will be fun going forward.

Passenger in B may have been short but as soon as almost everyone had boarded he took the stuff in front of him and chunked it into the aisle. pressed the FA call button as Passenger A was starting to yell at him.

FA wasn't having any of it. Once she found the stuff belonged to A she said "you can either put it under the seat in front of you or I will check it (a PC bag and something delicate according to A who continued to yell and then shoved Pax B in clear view of the FA.

That was all it took and Passenger A was asked to leave with the clear instruction that if he didn't go voluntarily they would have the police come escort him off the plane.

I guess he needed a CK to pull that off. Of course Passenger B managed to prove himself sort of a jerk then and through the rest of the flight. But he got to go.
Somewhat similar circumstances. I was in 4A, passenger in front of me 3A bulkhead. He put his backpack under his seat, in my space. I asked him to move it and put it in overhead. He sneered. I pushed his backpack forward into his legs as I stretched out my legs. He pressed the FA call button to complain. The FA said, "bulkhead row doesn't get underseat storage. Check it or put in the overhead."

For example, I always run into the one where the aisle-side F seat doesn't have enough space that is completely its "own" to put a bag (due to a bracket basically going between the legs); that pax instead has to put their bag between the two mounting brackets in the middle, which means that it often technically spills over into the space that belongs to the other pax (if we use a rule of projecting the edges of the seats forward to define the space).
True. Even on the LAA 738 and 321/319, there are 3 spaces in F. I've always assumed the aisle seat got 2 (based on alignment) and the window one. As an always-window person, I only put something in the middle section if the aisle pax has no bags at all. Otherwise, bag under my compartment and after takeoff, it leads up against the seat, behind my legs.

How did he manage to pull that off? I didn't realize you could squeeze it through (unless your bag is the size of a magazine or something)

There is some confusing grammar here, but if you're saying CK is not an actual tier above EXP, that has not been true for a few years (i.e., CK is now an actual tier). A CK is not EXP any more than a PLT is GLD.

Indeed, in standing on my digital soapbox, I see that the delivery was muddled.

The line should have read “CK is and isn’t...” in that CK is a program that includes Executive Platinum status with a separate set of benefits like SWU VIP1 encoding, an earlier upgrade window, boarding ahead of group 1, waived upgrade copays, etc...). The concept of SWUs is the same, complimentary 500 mile upgrades, and aside from the IRROP support/same day travel monitoring/another number, and the occasional meet/greet or car/buggy, for some CKs it’s not a huge difference from the EP tier.

I believe that even the FT CK Wiki makes mention that CK includes EP status.

Well, add to that access to the Flagship Lounges while on solely domestic itineraries.. That aside, CKs are at another level, as there are clearly stated benefits above and beyond an EXP. From a OW perspective, it is an Emerald, but many of the other OW partners also have their own uber levels beyond their straight OWE equivalents, granting exclusive benefits while within their own confines.

But back to topic, one of the CK benefits is not taking under seat space from someone else who is actually seated behind the said space.

it was a laptop case. Fortunately he had not pushed it all the way through so I was able to push it back.

I might be tempted to put my full weight on it and see what happens. OOPS...

Since we are talking about "shared" spaces, I have a quick question. I was traveling Economy class on another
airline where I have a Elite status. The agent in the Lounge specifically blocked the middle seat from being issued.
In the entire flight there were may be 3 or 4 empty seats. One of them was next to me. (I was in the Aisle)
Is that space mine now to do what I want ? In my case the person on the Window side started claiming
part of the seat and I wanted to pull a DYKWIA on her but let it go....(She was not elite...I checked by
talking to her) ! I really did not know how to handle this situation so asking for your thoughts...

Agreed. If AA were to be even close to competitive, I would book. Sadly, not the case . Agnostic.
