Is AA canceling the JFK/EGE direct flights?

I got a message a few days ago telling me my flight had changed (flight number only though) and now it’s telling me to “check back soon”

This flight don't normally start back up until, when, December? Give it a few days and see what happens. They're still showing on ExpertFlyer. I'd be surprised if they cancelled the route, if they can't make money there from "premium customers" then all hope is lost...

I doubt it. Flight schedules, numbers, and/or equipment change all the time. I saw the flight number change this past Sunday when doing my weekly check, no news here IMO. Schedules changes, when they occur, are loaded on Saturday nights. This is a seasonal flight operating from 12/18/19 to 4/6/20 and has been on similar dates for years. Loads are usually heavy to sold out during the ski season period and prices are quite high compared to fares to major cities like Denver; like double the price. So I imagine this route is quite profitable for AA and little chance of being cancanceled for that reason. Now individual flights can get canceled due to weather, but that is an entirely different subject for which you will not receive advance notice.

Unless you happen to be headed to YUL the next day out of another airport. :D
