AA special WOWAIR fares for WOW fliers stranded by shutdown

(NOT an April Fool's thing-- just bad timing on that!)

AA offering $1 fares (+ YQ/YR needless to say) for WOW Air situation:

I like how they refer to WOW customers as "WOW victims." One could argue that the true victims are those who actually had to fly WOW Air.

Well, at least the latter flew; the former got stranded, often far from home.

Interesting decision. Good PR for them even though in all honesty, the typical WOW flier isn't going to remember it next time they need a flight in/out of Europe.

<tongue-in-cheek>
I hope they put all stranded passengers on Oasis planes and that HWOWAIR books into Basic, so they all feel right at home!

Wow, a whopping $13 savings off publicly-available fares on at least one route!

Those are BE fares. The special HWOWAIR fare looks to be full-fare Y or close to it.

Saw a stranded WOW A321 at MIA recently. Wonder if AA could get a deal on some Airbus narrowbodies. Might come in handy, hmm...

Some may say “wow” — sarcastically or not — to the savings from that April Fools’ Day fare savings, but I would rather pay $13 more or less and fly AA than have taken a WOW flight.

"They" (AA) definitely don't, that was my addition solely.

Good catch-- big difference from -B-. And these have zero advance purchase requirement, fully refundable/changeable, so quite different that Basic Econ tix.

These are -H- class, obviously.

These don't seem to be standby, which is often how rescue fares are handled.

That is, quite frankly, a very nice gesture on AA's part coupled with being a nice PR for them.

What I wonder is if there is some kind of date range restriction or if this offer is valid for all WOW tickets no matter how far out?

This has to be the cheapest refundable ticket to Europe, probably ever. Corporate contracts would be jealous.
