"miles reinstatement fee" for cancellation within 24 hours of booking?
Couldn't find the answer to this question. Looks like I can cancel an award ticket within 24 hours of booking (or ticketing). The website says I'll need to separately call AA to get my miles back and that "reinstatement fees may apply".

Is the reinstatement fee waived if I cancel within the 24-hour window?

If you cancelled within 24h of booking I think your miles will get reinstated automatically. If they don't post in 1-2 days then definitely call. There should not be a fee.

"Full refund" means "full refund." While AA's policy exceeds the requirements of the DOT rule, once AA publishes that policy, it is bound to abide by it.
