Six Segment Itinerary operated by British Airways - Missing Miles & EQD's & EQM's
Last month I flew a 6 segment trip with American which was serviced by British Airways. It seems they credited 3 of the legs to my account (miles, EQD's & EQM's). I called into American who said they can't do anything to credit the 3 other segments because the flights were serviced by BA. They sent me an email that asked that I respond with receipt and boarding passes for each segment missing. I responded with the receipt for the flights and screenshots of the booking for each flight from the BA mobile app as that's what I used to board.
I contacted British Airways and they are pointing me back to American, American is pointing me to British, and here I sit still missing my awards for travel I completed on their planes. What to do? |

Second, I'm not sure who you contacted at AA (I'm guessing the normal reservations number?), but there is an online form at aa.com at the link below which is always the first place to start for a missing miles request. Typically only after you submit the online request will AA ask for any supporting documentation, and only in the rare events where there is an issue with crediting the flights. https://www.aa.com/forms/request-flight-miles/#/request |
Thank you for the warm welcome!
I did fill out that form and AA responded back with an email asking for the documents I listed above. I then called the AAdvantage support number and spoke with a really nice lady. She said she could see the segments but could not do the award. She re-forwarded me the email and I filled it out again. |

The AA marketed flights, regardless of operating airline, will post in accordance with AA earning rules. https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/...n-airlines.jsp The BA marketed, BA operated flights will post as per BA earning rules. (The link provided by Mwenenzi will take you to the proper page.) |
It may just take time, but last time this happened to me BA had managed to put my BAEC# in the reservation for the BA flights - the credit didn't show up on AA because I had already had the Avios from BA. I had to call BA and ask them to uncredit me those Avios, and once that was done I resubmitted the missing miles info to AA and they credited right away. Could this be happening to you here?
