Any precedent for an airline and aircraft-specific ground stop? How long one would expect evaluations to take?

Yes. Remember the AA 757 seat refits when they didn't get seat bolts tightened?

I see a bunch of AA 7M8s in the air, so the checks must not be too time consuming?

If it's PAE I wonder if it's somehow related to the 767 tanker stop recently- a broader manufacturing/assembly issue? No idea, WAG on my part.

oh yes, when they were taking seats creating MCE. The media spin was the seats were coming loose due to spilled soft drinks.

American found an issue with overhead bins with 2 aircraft and are proactively pulling an additional 12 out of service whose overhead bins had been fitted by the same vendor.
