AA just seems to have no TPAC mojo out off ORD: no HKG, PVG, PEK, ICN... It gets killed by UA or Asian carriers.

Dreams do come true:

This is excellent news. I was just at HND last week thinking "Man, I wish AA would add a direct to DFW from here."

So... question that hasn't been answered yet. Will LIT-NRT continue to be desired or does it become LIT-HND now?

UA will effectively have two slot pairs from LAX and ORD to HND thanks to its JV with NH. I wouldn't be surprised if NH adds its own HND-IAD/IAH/SFO service too.

DL and HA are also proposing multiple frequencies to HNL on their own metal.

Interesting on LAS-HND. The old US Airways hub returns. LOL.

Wonder how this flight would work. One dedicated craft flying LAS-HND and back? Or DFW-LAS-HND-LAS-DFW / ORD-LAS-HND-LAS-ORD?

Distance wise, this is within 100 miles of LAX-HND.

Because with the exception of maybe HKG, China, Korea, and Taiwan are a bloodbath of money-losing routes for the most part. Fares under $400 round trip. It costs more to fly from Chicago to Austin.

Rotation into / out of LAS from DFW. That's my guess. They were rotating a 788 DFW-LAS for a while in the fall / early winter.

Or they turn it at HND. E.g. LAS-HND-LAX / LAX-HND-LAS.

Looking at the schedule posted above, one of the 788's has to overnight at HND.

Not being an expert into Tokyo as its been a few years since I've flown into there.....I know that Narita is a good 45 miles from city center Tokyo while Haneda is about 12 miles. Is Haneda viewed as a more traditional O/D domestic airport owing to its proximity whereas NRT is more of an international gateway?

Kind of like Hongqiao versus Pudong (setting aside that Hongqiao is much closer to center Shanghai than HND is to Tokyo)?

Basically, yes. But there's been some decent INTL expansion at HND from JL and NH.

There are more connection opportunities via NRT, especially on Oneworld.

HND, however (IMO) is a much nicer airport and experience in getting to the city.

LIT-HND is in addition to the A380 on LIT-NRT.

I have the same thoughts! I am PHL-based and will be doing a HKG and TYO trip in Aug. I can't tell you how much pain I am going through right now to decide what route I need to take from Asia back to PHL.

My itinerary right now is EWR (on CX - which I probably won't get any EQM) to HKG to NRT/HND to DWF/ORD to PHL. I am also considering instead of EWR, I will do PHL to DFW to HKG to NRT/HND to DWF/ORD to PHL. Or maybe I will just suck it up to do the direct from NRT/HND to JFK!

First world problem!!

AA got two slots. LAX and one DFW.

DL got five, UA got four and HA got one. I said this before but I think AA dropped the ball here with their proposals.
