Question AA DFW-DUB begins 6 Jun 2019

The DFW-DUB route is scheduled to begin 6/6/19, "subject to government approval"... I am interested in flying 6/15/19. Any informed opinions about the likelihood of this route's approval? I'd hate to rebook at the last minute.
Thanks

My experience has been if they are selling seats, they are reasonably sure they will get it. In the unlikely event AA does not get it, they will reroute you

"subject to government approval" is generally a just corporate "CYA" statement once the flights have been opened for booking. Don't worry about it.

There may be some countries where this could cause some anxiety. Ireland is not one of them.

had no idea this route is starting! Definitely sounds like a good weekend trip although I fear that since AA is the only nonstop they can name their price. If that is the case it won't happen although sounds like a good SWU redemption route. Wait....no 752 can fly this distance.....what in gods name are they going to use.....the new 321NEO?

It will be so much nicer going to DUB via DFW rather than PHL. The PHL to DUB flight was just slightly too short to get a good night's sleep.

It's a 789, as a quick check on AA.com tells us...

Not to mention the fact that the NEO has less range than the 757.

Actually, thats not true. The 321 NEO has a range of 4000NM.

The 757/200 is 3900NM and the 300 series is 3400NM

Let me “actually that’s not true” you, right back. 4000nm is the alleged range of the A321LR, not the regular NEO.

Booked back in November. Coming back via LHR and ORD unfortunately but at $5800 round trip vs the $11000 I'm seeing for a return via DFW, I'll take it.

Booked it a month ago for June 11 to get home from Ireland. I go to Ireland a few times a year and am very excited to have direct flight available, usually take delta with a stop in ATL or JFK. Used 110k AA miles to book it.

Right... I'll take my 12,000 hours in the 75/76, and the fact my fiance is training on the NEO as better reference than your opinion. Are you even a pilot?

Because that’s relevant? You need to calm down, buddy. Me being a pilot or not isn’t relevant and you having 12.000 hours on the 757/767 is even less relevant to knowing the A321s range. (Though it does make me a bit jealous, the 75 is a beautiful plane, haha.)

For what it’s worth, here it is from the horse’s mouth.

The A321LR – a new variant of Airbus’ A321neo, deliveries of which will begin in 2018 – will have the longest range of any single-aisle jetliner, able to fly routes of up to 4,000 nm. It is ideally suited to transatlantic routes, and enables airlines to tap into new long-haul markets that were not previously accessible with current single-aisle aircraft.

A321LR: the long-range leader

The A321LR – a new variant of Airbus’ A321neo – will have the longest range of any single-aisle jetliner, able to fly routes of up to 4,000 nm with 206 passengers while utilising extra fuel stored in three Additional Centre Tanks (ACTs).
But hey, I’m not a pilot. I’ll take your word for it that the regular NEO without the extra 3 ACTs also has 4000nm range.

But at this point, we’ve veered heavily off topic.

All good. No need to argue. I do know that the training manuals for the 321 NEO show a 4,000NM range. and the CBT stuff reflect this as well. But yes, it is with the ACT, which I should have clarified.

Safe travels!
