  • Flagship First Dining access: First Class customers on American’s 3-class international and transcontinental flights will have exclusive access to FlagshipSM Dining in 2017.

(This has put Flagship Dining into a category similar to the BA Concorde Room and a few other lounges - not oneworld lounges, restricted to long haul Flagship (three class) First passengers on AA marketed and operated flights only.)

  • Admirals Club access: No announced or predicted access changes.
However, thirty day memberships are no longer available as of 25 Jul 2016, and One Day Pass cost has increased to $59. Annual Club memberships increased in price in 2016.

When they're back up to 100% elevator capacity, I might try to visit the ORD H/K AC again. When only 50% of the lifts are available, it just takes too long to get in and out.

MIA Flagship Lounge Update

I am in the MIA D30 lounge now.

Lovely door agent told me they told her late August opening for the Flagship Lounge. She did a tour a few days ago and, given the current state, thinks it will be September.

Another agent said it is beautiful and "huuuuuuge". (Let's hope.)

FYI - 1/2 the entry is closed off. The FL will be to the right as you exit the elevators.

They've had all four elevators operational again for well over a month, maybe more. At least for my last 4-5 trips. This morning, the entire lobby is again operational. The quiet area is now defined as so, and the rear bathrooms are re-opened.

The club is a huge problem around peak Europe departure time, however. Hopefully they'll open up the front of the club in stages instead of waiting to do it all at once. More room is sorely needed.

I was there last week and overheard the bartender saying that he'll be getting his regular bar back by the of the month. The rest of the lounge will return to normal by the end of October. But he did express doubts about the latter.

I now avoid A if landing at different terminal. Time permitting, I will visit other lounge even if my connection is in A.

Apparently, LAX T4 is closing at the same time as T5 opens which is imminent. Different lounge availability for a couple months while they finish T4. Emails are being sent to members with further details. Can someone post a screenshot when they receive it?

I posted it earlier today in the LAX / Los Angeles Int'l. Airport Terminal 4 Flagship Lounge (master thread):

Reimagining our lounges
An update on what’s next at LAX

We know you travel through Los Angeles International Airport often. And we can’t wait for you to experience our all-new Admirals Club®, Flagship® Lounge and Flagship® First Dining later this year.

To complete construction sooner, we’ll temporarily close the current Terminal 4 Admirals Club and International First Class Lounge on September 5.

You’ll still have 2 options at LAX:
  • NEW: Terminal 5 Admirals Club (near Duty Free)
  • Regional Terminal Admirals Club (near gate 52D)
Plus, if you need help with your flight in Terminal 4, we’ll offer Admirals Club guest services (near gate 42A).

We look forward to seeing you soon.
I'll add that the AC in T5 is already open.

Indeed, "Let's hope."

I'm "hopeful" that whatever AA has come up with is an improvement over the sorry ACs currently in MIA, but beautiful is relative. Therefore, of the two adjectives, I'm holding out "hope" for "huuuuuuge" because JFK's is definitely overcrowded...

The new lounge in MIA is very nice. No complaints there.

The JFK FL is beautiful. (IMHO) And FD is a home run.

No reason to think MIA will be any less stunning.

As for overcrowding at JFK, like you, I have concerns. I hope they learned from JFK and are making it bigger and better. For now, I have faith.
