Farewell to BOS boarding area AA Eagle Neon (2019)

For years, I have enjoyed seeing the beautiful historic neon AA sign in the high B gates at Boston Logan. Now that AA is moving from those gates, AA is going to dismantle the sign and move it to the AA Museum in Dallas. Too bad it couldn't have been fit into the remodeling plans at BOS. Staff told me that the neon sign originally was in a hangar at LGA in New York.

couldn't AA just order one for the museum and leave this one there?

Undoubtedly. But Mr. Parker would have to care and to spend money. OTOH, it will add to the C. R. Smith Mueum, so it’ll be nice to see it preserved there.

As long as they put up a similar sign with the current logo at the new gates, good move.

But....

Was looking for it as I have not been in B recently. My contribution of it in all its glory at night.

It should be the America West logo at this point if they chose to keep it :/

Wasn't there some talk of sending it to Dallas for display in the museum?

Shortly after the move I thought I saw a glimpse of it at the hangar in BOS, but never saw it again to confirm, so that's pure speculation.

I recall seeing a very similar sign in the terminal at ORD years ago... is that still around or long gone now?

Incidentally I was flying UA from Boston last month and we used a former AA gate. The pier still looks the same:
