Got it too. Haven’t flown AA in twenty years. I just burned the remaining original AA miles (which were converted) for my daughter and my account now has a balance near zero.
I wonder if they have intel on UAs elites. I am GS on United and this is the first time AA has reached out to me in 15 years. Wish the offer came years ago. I’m in too deep with United.

I was just offered free Platinum pro until May as well. Took only 3 AA flights in 2018 all in paid F. Was mainly a UA flyer until the end of the year when I decided to become a free agent. Will be nice to have the status for a few months though.

I was just offered free Platinum pro until May as well. I have no status and have not flown AA in years and my last redemption (on a partner airline) was in 2017 so no idea why they offered me Platinum pro.

I also got Platinum Pro. Currently 1K on UA. I haven't flown AA in years but just redeemed some orphan miles for a QF flight later in the year. $2,4K EQD and 20k EQMs. Pretty achievable if I really wanted to switch to AA.
But at 2.6 Million on UA, I'm not realistically going to move my business. Especially being NYC based. AA is terrible out of here

I'm in the same boat, but was alternating between Gold and Platinum a few years back. I have a partner award coming up in April that'll get me free checked bags, decent seat selection, priority boarding, and lounge access, and thats pretty much all I'll use it for. I have no desire to switch my preferred airline back to AA.

Oh, I didn't even get Exec Plat as an option.
But looking at the way this is supposed to work - I won't be able to fly Basic Economy and get 100% EQMs and EQDs (and also found out that for AA elites that you can't select seats with Basic Economy as you would be able to with UA). I'll still give it a try, but I doubt this would work out for me in the end... (I do still have an AA gift card I've been meaning to use)
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I'm a PHL based UA flyer, but occasionally (once or twice a year) fly AA. I got the offer for Gold and the pretty easy criteria to earn even higher status.
No reason not to take advantage!
