Is it common for leisure routes to have unsold FC seats held from being given to EXP flyers in the hopes of selling upgrades or paid tickets up until the last minute.

I'm flying with my husband on the LAX-SJD nonstop tomorrow, with four open seats. I'm EXP, he's Plat Pro.

Our return leg from PHX to SEA has already cleared for next Wednesday, but both the LAX-SJD, and SJD-PHX both show open seats, but both haven't cleared. I've never seen that before.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Right now, J1 but Y0. I still see 3 available seats in J on experflyer, hopefully coach is oversold and my upgrade will clear.
Did you clear?

LAX-SJD shows all 0's tomorrow. So, most likely Y is oversold. What flight SJD-PHX on Wednesday?

That flight shows J2 D2 I2 and 7's in all Y buckets. The 2:25 to PHX is showing 7's in all buckets. Checking for C availability there appears to be 1 seat available on the 12:40 and 2 on the 2:25.

I'm a EXP with $14K EQD and I requested an upgrade using an expiring SWU on a flight from DFW to EWR a few weeks ago. It didn't clear before check-in but after I checked in I was lower on the upgrade list than my coworker who is an EXP with about $20K EQD but who wasn't using any SWU. Based on Upgrade Type (2.1) shouldn't I have been higher on the upgrade list than him?

Are you referring to DFW-HKG AA125? Wish I could join you! Have you got UG'd already?
PE is 100% packed, but Y still has many empty seats. J has 17 empty seats per EF.

I have EF for years, still not knowing how to read what you read.

yes you should have. My guess is the SWU request didn’t carry over to the airport PALL list for some reason and you were on the list as a UDU sticker upgrade request.

This happened to me previously and I asked Twitter whether I was coded correctly. They said I was and I didn't clear, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't correct. Not sure how to check it myself, but what else can you do but ask.

Cleared at 72 hours as PP for DFW-CUN this Monday. Short flight but chose this one since it was the 788 flight and very happy the upgrade cleared for us both.
