LAX ~ Domestic to TBIT

Arriving LAX from Atlanta on AA (not Eagle)
Departing LAX to Sydney also on AA, same PRN.
No checked luggage.
I believe I have sufficient time for the connection if I don't take the wrong turn to TBIT.
Upon arrival how do I get to TBIT?

I will direct you to the following post on OMAAT, put together by the always wonderful Tiffany:

Note that the SYD flight can leave from T4; it doesn't always depart from TBIT.

I am having a hard time finding the mileage run thread. I need 347 EQM by 6/25. Already met EQD, just need the MI for cheap as possible, hoping for a weekday FIFO, based out of ORD.

I would forget about the MR thread (linked below), just go to Google Flights, pick a few dates, and start plugging in random cities. Doesn't take long to cover a lot of ground searching. If all you need is 347 EQM then you're just looking for the cheapest out and back you can find. Looking real quick I saw ORD-RDU roundtrip on 6/19 for $132 in Basic Econ.

ORD-CMH in basic economy is right around $80 each way and itís a short hour hop. Would net you 500 EQM

Yes, if you think you can meet the EQD requirement, and would prefer to accumulate fewer EQM, then a challenge might be the way to go. Alternatively, if you are wiling to do a mileage run to Asia, and find a good deal (airfare to HKG can be well under $1000), then you might save some money.

I would also closely look at what benefits you actually value with Gold status. Many of the perks (priority boarding, free checked baggage) can be obtained simply by having one of the AAdvantage credit cards.

Thanks. I recently just took on some other cards plus do most of my flying for work, so I can't put those flights on a card either.

I believe you only have to hold the card not use it to pay for the flight.

Equipment Change

Hi

i booked an itinerary that included LAX-BOS Ona three class transcon in First. It seems that this has changed to a two class plane. Apart from spending a lot of time in a two class seat (Iím flying into LAX from OGG) I was looking forward to a more comfortable experience. Is there anything that I can do to get AA to move me back to a three class plane?

Absolutely. Do your homework and take a look at the schedules and see what you would like to switch to. Then call AA and ask specifically for whatever you find that works the best.

1) If there is another LAX-BOS flight that offers 3-class F that works for your connection, you can ask for that.

2) Since you (evidently) paid for 3-class F, look at a OGG-LAX-JFK-BOS routing that might work, and ask for that.

Random Question! Can you credit the travel done on an AA SWU to a partner? And if so, does it get credit as the original booked class or the upgraded class? Thanks!

No. Technically, you must credit AA to be able to use SWU upgrade benefits. And if your AA SWU upgrade is granted you’ll earn at the rate of the paid fare.

More in the Wikipost at the top of the page and thread https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/amer...er-thread.html.

I know that OP booked in F on 3 class. But if I were him I would reroute in J OGG-DFW-BOS to get more time in lay flat seat
