yes, that did the trick. Within minutes after de-boarding the plane I was "gold" on my app and could book green seats. Weirdly, I couldn't book the blue seats with stars (for elite members). But I just went back and checked and now I can pre-book both.

What is the difference between preferred seats (green) and blue seats with stars? Why the delineation by AA?

no difference in terms of legroom. Blue or green seat with a star is only visible to elites. It will show up as taken seat for non elites. Usually AA opens it up for everyone sometime after check in

Hi there

Business class but no status as such and do have baggage
Already driving the car from Miami so it has to go back there!
Sounds like a night drive down, crash out then head to airport for 10?

Thanks for the insight, probably should have asked this a few months ago before all the flights etc booked!

BZE means no lounge anyway. You could leave 0500 and usually be OK, but do you really want the hassle and uncertainty?

Enjoy BZE! (Assuming you're not staying in the city.)

No, BZE is Central America, so business class comes with Flagship Lounge access.

I'm interested in a premium economy from LHR to LAX next year as an award reservation. Reservations told me that they do offer it, but that it hasn't been loaded yet for the dates I'm looking at (next fall), which she figured is why I don't see it online. (The other classes show available, so it's not all the way out of range.) I just tried several dates in the spring, and I didn't see it anywhere.

I did some searches under premium economy but was getting responses about paid tix, not awards. Can someone educate me on the status of premium economy award tickets? Are they actually available yet? Is there a date?

The phone rep told me when they are available they're only 40K so I'm very interested in snaring one. (Or is the low price the problem and they don't want to offer them as awards?)

Premium Economy awards are available but you need to make sure you're searching using the "new" aa.com search (https://www.aa.com/booking/find-flights/award). Using the advanced/traditional/old aa.com search will not display PE award space.

And 40k is the sAAver level, but these can be few and far between.

I notice Economy Web Specials for award redemption. It's a great deal. Is this something that occurs often or when you see it you should book it sort of thing? That is, is it possible the special is only run today and will be gone tomorrow?

These web specials are AA's first pass at dynamic award pricing. Sometimes they're a good deal and other times they're a terrible deal.

They definitely can come and go depending on the route, and based on my experience last week the award price can change frequently (I watched a domestic coach award jump from 8k to 10k to 12k over the span of 2 hrs).

Lots of recent discussion on these...

Thanks much. The "span of 2 hours" changes were what I wanted to know. So I went ahead and booked and got a great redemption on a per mile basis (.39 cents). thanks!

I have purchased an AAvacations trip to Italy with business class flights. Three of the segments are operated by BA. I am wondering if it is possible to upgrade either of the TATL BA segments to first using either AA miles or Avios. I had read that this was possible with AA miles if the itinerary includes at least one AA segment, but I saw something else indicating that this would not be possible with the flights booked into "I" class (which they are). Any advice would be much appreciated.

I sure hope that you meant 3.9 cents per mile, and not .39 cents per mile.

Thanks, I had come to the same conclusion

As you can see in the Wikipost of https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/amer...aster-thd.html, I class fares would not be upgradable using AA miles. The BAEC members would know if your BA segments could be upgraded with Avios.

I have a question about booking a domestic flight with an overnight connection in ORD. Will I collect my checked bags for the overnight portion? The O/N is particularly desirable as I wish to leave those items at my home, which is the midpoint location. Booking this way, vs a multicity saves hundreds of dollars.
