Why was my flight AA2095 delayed? (to merge)

My flight on American from ORD to PHL this afternoon was just delayed, which will cause me to miss my connecting flight. It doesn't look like there are weather delays at these airports right now. Where can I find the reason for this delay? Does AA provide any visibility into delay causes? Thank you!! Flight AA2095

If you post the flight # someone may be able to see if there are any notes in expert flyer.

Good luck! You may have already know (based on asking the cause of your delay), but just in case: If your onward connection from PHL is to Europe, start reading up on EC261 while you wait; if you are late to your final destination you may be due compensation.

GUIDE: EC261 / EC 261/2004 “EU” complaints, compensation and AA

EC261 would not apply to an AA flight from the U.S. to Europe.

If this puts your PHL connection in jeopardy, call AA now to look at alternatives. Since the notes show it's maintenance related, any necessary rerouting should not cost anything.

No, it will not.

AA is not an EU carrier and neither ORD nor PHL are in the EU. Thus, EC 261/2004 does not apply.

The reason for the delay will only matter to OP if he is forced into an unexpected overnight, in which case AA is on the hook for a hotel.
