Status change after ticket purchase
I read a non-definitive thread on this from 2015 and wanted to see what the current situation is.
I have booked several flights when I was gold, platinum, or platinum pro but I will be flying on all those tickets when I am EXP next year.
How do I make sure my EXP is reflected on the reservations for upgrade priority etc? Do I call and ask for some specific thing to be done? Should I just ask to have my AAdvantage number removed and re-added to the PNR?
Or do we know that these will update without any intervention?

check AA app and see if you can request upgrade for free as EXP. If you can than your reservation has been updated and there is no need to call. If it’s tryint to charge you 500 miles upgrades than you have to call EXP desk and they would have to remove and remove and re add your AAdvantgae number. Usually takes 2-3 days after your got the status to reflect it in your profile
