I'm going to HUCA today and see if I get a nicer AA rep via BA. The seats I don't mind too much. I do mind 50 min connections in MIA.

Are you currently on the 8am JFK - MIA and then 1205pm MIA-PUJ? If so, maybe they can move you up to the 629am JFK-MIA to give you a more comfortable connection window. Otherwise, there's not a lot they can do. The 8am has an 85% reliability factor, though. And there is already some padding built into the schedule, so you should still be ok.
Alternately, there is JFK-CLT 5am to the A330-200 CLT-PUJ routing. But since you said this is award travel, it's unlikely AA will give up any seats since you aren't experiencing any IRROPS (yet).
It still looks like your JFK-MIA is a 757 with the lie flat seats up front, so least half your trip will be in the nicer seats. The max is fine too if you're up in J (though not as nice as a lie flat product).

Those are my flights. Its not horrendous. Its the withering feeling of defeat after an amazing award redemption non-stop in J/lie-flat to the Caribbean...

as most of you said to be patient. AA did open up seats on LGA-PUJ via CLT. so we get that sweet 330-300 seat for most of the trip.. Just hoping AA doesn't screw around with my flights anymore.. (who am I kidding!!)
