American Eagle flights as Oneworld Emerald member?
So, due routes and schedules I'm flying from LAX to Helsinki (HEL) via SFO.
The first leg is LAX-SFO, AA marketed, American Eagle operated flight. Economy ticket, but I'm an OWE. The second leg is SFO-HEL, with Finnair. I usually fly via JFK, with American and Finnair. This has made it possible to enjoy the Flagship Check-in at LAX, as well as the finer FIRST Oneworld lounges. The question is...am I in trouble since it's an American Eagle flight, or do I still enjoy all my OWE benefits? I've never flown A-Eagle before, and I always manage, but it's much more fun with speedy check-in and champagne. |
you're good, same benefits you would get on American, it is just the regional carrier.

You should be able to use the Flagship lounge at LAX, but be sure to build in sufficient time to leave the lounge and transit to the remote gates (the "eagle's nest") for your E175 flight.

Thanks. I will!
If you're in Y you'll probably also get a free alcoholic drink during the service because FAs can't distinguish on their tablets between EXPs and OWEs (both show up as green) |

And there is also an Admirals Club in the "eagle's nest" where you can wait in a little bit more comfort for your E175 flight. They should give you a premium drink voucher on entry.

I'll second the Qantas First lounge. Just keep in mind that the Qantas First lounge is in the Tom Bradley Terminal, aka TBIT, while the American Eagle flight leaves from the remote terminal. That means you need to give yourself an extra 45 minutes to walk from the QF lounge to the bus gate at terminal 4 and then take the bus to the remote terminal.
Also, when you check in, go to terminal 4 checkin (not terminal 5) if you are going to the Quantas First Lounge.

Based upon my experience, you'll have to ask for that voucher.

The remote AC is a fairly typical Admirals Club you can get into. Better than sitting at the gate but not remotely :) in the league of the Qantas First or Flagship lounges. |

You'll also be able to use the Qantas F lounge over in TBIT, a short walk via the airside connector from T4. But agree, allow yourself 20 or so minutes to get to the Nest. I usually leave about 50 or so minutes before departure from QF F to the nest as I'm always flying Eagle back home to SFO.

Note that (AFAIK) there is no airside connection between terminals at SFO, so you'll have to re-clear security (sans Pre-Check, as AY doesn't participate).
