2,500 points if TSA Pre-Check is >10 min

In Oakland WN is offering a 2,500 point voucher if your pre-check TSA line wait is > 10 minutes. With DFW Monday morning Pre-Check lines taking 30+ minutes now, I would love to see AA match. This new redesign of A & C gates with single TSA in middle of each terminal is reaping havoc with Pre-Check advantages on AA at DFW.

AA, and WN for that matter, don't have a lot of control over TSA staffing levels. I don't see AA doing some kind of guaranteed TSA processing time when there are so many variables that they have no control over which could affect the wait times.

Having flown out of OAK about a dozen times on WN this year, I have yet to experience it taking longer than 10 minutes. Once when I was close to goving over the 10 minute mark they opened the second screening lane.

There is no way a major hub like DFW could replicate that guaranatee. Even at SAN I've been in TSA Pre-check lines that exceeded 20 minutes.

No. Way.

False equivalence, IMO, not to mention AA has no co troll on TSA.

AA isn't going to match it until WN starts offering it out of DFW :)

Here are the T&Cs from when it was going on.

My security software blocked this with "You have attempted to access or download a file that contains a virus."

That's funny. It's a link to my post in the Southwest forum that includes a picture hosted here.

Try either: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/sout...l#post29868625
or just the main thread: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/sout...a-10-mins.html

This looks like a simple marketing ploy. Appears WN is reducing their frequencies into SFO, and making OAK their focus city (along with SJC). Perhaps research has shown that some travelers avoid OAK due to a perception of long security lines, so this is a tactic to convince otherwise.

AANYC1981 Jul 18, 2018 5:39 pm

AA definitely will not be matching this

tismfu Jul 18, 2018 8:37 pm

CLEAR at DFW A and C would be HUGE. They could
throw in B and D, too, and I wouldn’t complain ;)

I guess my employer has tighter security than Spectrum gives me at home :)
I had no problems with the link at home
