AA adding MIA-HOU/GRR/PVD/RSW/BUF

All flights daily and start December 19th.

Houston Hobby, Grand Rapids and Providence are new.

Ft. Myers operated forever before the ATR retirement and then again as a "winter break" service last year. Buffalo also operated as a "winter break" service last year.

Also, AA has reversed a decision to discontinue Miami-Omaha. It will be suspended in mid-August, as planned, but then resume December 19th.

Are these not loaded yet? I can’t find any signs of HOU-MIA no matter what dummy dates I use. Mostly curious about aircraft type.

PVD will be a nice option to BOS. Will be interested to see how it prices relative to B6.

HOU is an interesting add since the totality of AA's service today is 7-8 flights to DFW.

That’s great news for PVD. B6 and WN both operate daily nonstop to FLL, so MIA will be a great addition. Now we’ll have one stop to South America on AA metal, which is nice.

Houston Hobby is an interesting choice. The only other legacy service at HOU is AA to Dallas and DL to Atlanta. Airport doesn't even have any flights to O'Hare.

Surprised to see Grand Rapids over say, Milwaukee, though.

GRR can draw O&D traffic from a fairly large area (Kalamazoo, Lansing, Traverse City) while Milwaukee is somewhat in the Chicago airports catchment area for points south and slightly west?

I could have sworn AA used to operate a AUS-HOU-MIA flight.

AA used to operate an AUS-HOU-LGA flight back in the day (late 90's, early 2000's). In addition to AUS-HOU-LGA and HOU-DFW, they also had 2 daily round trips to LAX. They have never had any service from Hobby to MIA, only from IAH.

Then, Hobby got transitioned to all Eagle and all mainline staff transferred to IAH. Only DFW remained on mostly regional jets with the occasional mainline flights during the summer. Agree that it is exciting to see additional service from Hobby.

ORD doesn't add a ton of value IMO. WN has Chicago pretty well covered for O&D traffic and there aren't a lot of places that HOU-ORD-XXX makes more sense than HOU-DFW-XXX.

HOU-MIA is likely targeted for a 1 stop to Latin America.
