End of early-morning RDU-DCA?
Searched, didn't find anything on topic.
For years, there's been an early morning RDU-DCA flight that gets in around 7 or 7:30 AM; it's always packed with people flying from the universities and companies up for day meetings in DC. Now it looks like there's nothing that gets in before about 9 and it also requires a change in CLT (adding additional schedule risk on a day trip). Anyone know what's behind the change and if it's just temporary? |
On many dates, there still is a flight that gets into DCA around 7AM.
However, it seems to be only weekdays thru September, then every day except Sat. thru end of schedule. |
The RDU-DCA flight schedules have always been heavily weighted towards business travel. On peak weekdays you can see anywhere from 7-10x daily, while on Saturdays, holidays, and other off peak times that can drop down to 2-3x daily.

Ah, it was just July 4 week---guess they figure there would be reduced business travel. The early-morning nonstop are there on other weeks. Annoying in the short-run, since I do have a meeting July 2, but looks like I can continue to experience the joy that is 35X in subsequent months.
