they going to start posting little signs like that in the admirals club next? really not very classy thing to publicize if it's just a heads-up about not overserving people.
maybe the lawyers made them do it. shrug.

Funny one yesterday. First time I have seen this in the 1.5 years since roll out. Had a connection in PHX, on the first segment on a LUS A321 (so only a few rows of MCE on the plane) window seat asks for a double Bloody Mary. FA says they don't do doubles anymore, but he'd come by later if there was any left after service. Funny, how two days earlier I had a double on my flight from DFW. Guy goes back right as service ends to get another bottle. My second segment, I order a double, no issue. As the F FA is coming through to clean up she asks if I want another drink, fine why not. She comes back with another double. I guess karma catches up, thought the whole interaction was silly to limit to singles when asked, especially since the pax had to go back and get it right after.

Which I also don't get. If every customer paid for a double in the first 5 rows, would the FA say sorry we need to keep supplies for people in the back or take the money being offered? Same goes for MCE, people paid to sit there, either with cash or sitting their butt in seats on AA. Issue is, you can't argue these types of things as it is a losing battle. And it wasn't as if they denied anymore drinks, just "if there are any left later".

"Standing your ground" demanding double drinks might well result in being cutoff from all alcohol the rest of the flight. YMMV

Just persistently but in a very calm and friendly tone reason that there doesn’t exist any wording which specifically excludes doubles being served.

In my experience in MCE, I have never been asked to pay for drinks, even when the seat was assigned to me randomly as a BE passenger. Also, I almost always order a Bacardi and coke zero, and I never ask for a double. Very occasionally I could sense just a touch of angst from the flight attendant, but generally, they seem happy to serve it. Approximately 75% of the time, I am given the standard single and usually given the whole can of soda to mix myself. Very occasionally the FA mixes it for me. The other 25% of the time, I am given two bottles of Bacardi without having requested it. One time, I was given 4!

That sounds like a reasonable FA. The other FA's might not care so much about being able to provide it to more people.
