Is AA pretty efficient deicing at CDG?

On Tuesday there is suppose to be a bit of a rain/snow mix with temperatures just above freezing in the morning at CDG.
I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with how AA's operations are at CDG with deicing.
I'm on the JFK flight which is the first AA departure of the day if that makes a difference.

I know at some airports airlines have their own crews or might share with other carriers and sometimes they deice by the gate and other times queue up for remote pads with other airlines.

I’m pretty sure it’s Paris Aéroport, which manages Charles de Gaulle, as well as Orly and Le Bourget, that would be responsible for airport operations such as de-icing, not American Airlines.

And I can’t imagine they’re that efficient....

That was really just a comment on the fact that it doesn’t snow much there...

This forecast doesn't sound all that bad. I doubt it's anything that they can't handle pretty easily.

I was in CDG in December (on AA to ORD) and there was a deicing line and it took approximately forever to get through the deicing process . Maybe an hour or a bit more from the time we pulled away until takeoff. Someone who has access to the data can look up AA151 on December 3.

We had to wait for deicing a few years ago at CDG when it was snowing moderately. I wouldn't say it took forever, but we were delayed for sure....I don't recall how long, but I would guess 60-90 minutes including delayed boarding and then the actual deicing itself. I recall feeling slightly inconvenienced but resigned to my fate, rather than feeling incensed about a crazy-long delay. Not much you can do about it!

Forever was in comparison to ORD, where the whole thing seems to take five or ten minutes and then you're off.

What are you worried about ? Where are you going with such open ended qualitative question ???

chuck1 Feb 5, 2018 2:55 pm

Just wondering how worried I need to be about my JFK connection.

AA will get you connected, it just might not be quick
That reminds me of "Bridge of Spies"
Question "Aren't you worried?"
Response "Would it help?"
Of course, he was being tried as a spy, you only have to worry about a missed connection

Either you will connect. Or you will not.

Worry on one's part affects the/any process naught and will have no effect on the outcome.

The plane either needs to be de-iced or it doesn't -- more or less (not sure if de-icing and anti-icing are independent).
Plowing runways might be another story though.
