(These do not apply to One Dap Pass holders.)

● Note: Members are able to contact Admirals Club Member Services (see below) 24 hours in advance even when not flying and request gate passes for themselves and others meeting at an Admirals Club for business purposes:

VISITING THE Admirals Club WHEN NOT FLYING

Members not flying can access Clubs when they have airside access and the airport doesn’t restrict lounge access to departing passengers.

Members can not secure a gate pass from a ticket agent.

Members can not secure a gate pass with merely "declared business purpose" for themselves and others any longer (14 Sep 2016).

Members and non-members can schedule and attend business meetings in the Admirals Club® or Executive Center if they have rented a conference room in a Club with such and are registered on the daily meeting list. See below.

This requires arrangements at least 24 (workday) hours in advance.

FAQ link including a Club access.

Q. I am a member and would like to meet someone at the airport, but I'm not flying today on AA, AS or oneworld airline. Can I get through Security to get to the Admirals Club lounge?

A: No. Only those registered in advance and attending a conference in a rented conference room may have access. Casual access / walking up to the ticket counter to request a gate pass is not permitted; please do not put employees in an uncomfortable position by asking.

To do so you must :
  • Present a valid government I.D.
  • Have your name on the daily meeting list

To add names of those attending an event in a rented conference room to the daily meeting list, call at least 24 hours in advance:
  • Admirals Club number/AAdvantage® number
  • Legal name as it appears on government issued identification for each individual
  • Birth dates, including year, for each individual (maximum of two guests allowed for non-conference room meeting)*
  • Location, date and time of non-conference room meeting

We will arrange for Security clearance with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to allow you to get to the lounge. This opportunity is available for Admirals Club members only (and their authorized guests), and you will be required to show your Admirals Club membership card, along with a government-issued photo ID.

*(Times corrected to current service center hours)

Q. CAN I PURCHASE A FULLY REFUNDABLE AA TICKET FOR ACCESS?

No. It's honestly not a good idea, as this practice is specifically prohibited by American Airlines' Conditions of Carriage (Link):

American specifically prohibits practices commonly known as:

...Fraudulent, fictitious and abusive bookings: Fraudulent, fictitious and/or abusive bookings are prohibited. These types of bookings are defined as ... or to gain access to airport facilities....

Executive Card - additional information: As one Club employee posted on millionmilesecrets:

"* Here are the rules…I work at the Club

1. Only the primary card holder is a member. Note the word member... The member (or now, authorized user, flying AA, AS or oneworld the same day) is allowed to bring in 2 guests OR immediate family which cannot exceed 2 people over 18 and all children under 18. For example John cannot bring in his wife, his 2 daughters and their husbands. He can bring in 2. If his daughters are under 18 they do not count toward the guest count of 2...

2. Our computers tell us if one is an authorized user. (Your AAdvantage number and if you are a cardholder in good standing - jd.)".

No it was last weekend. It was lack of knowledge, not weather...

Question Wishing for the 75,000 mile offer to return

I've been hoping for the return of the 75,000 mile offer, but would like to act soon. If I apply for the current 50,000 mile offer and they change to 75,000 within a few months, might they graciously grant me the extra miles if I have met the higher spending? Has anyone had success with this?

This is better covered in the Citi Forum, as it relates to the card itself and the application, not the benefits (this thread).

Check out this thread, around post 4500 and before. It has been granted before via Citi's SM feature. That said, it doesn't guarantee anything.

New Citi AA exec card

I applied for and was approved for the Citi AA EXec card over the weekend. Heading to the airport for a flight Tuesday morning but will not have the new card yet. Anyone have any idea if my admirals club account has been activated so I might be able to access the club with my AA number? Or do I need to wait for the credit card to arrive?

No idea but what I would do is call citi and see if they can do something to make sure you do not have an issue. I'm not too optimistic that AA will have updated their computers etc or that citi would have gotten around to notifying them yet, given the approval is brand new.

They always swipe my partner's card so if you cancelled it, I highly doubt you would be granted access.

I think it might be possible. When I call (I suspect Citi) when traveling out of North America, they can see my AAdvantage details and know about my upcoming trips that I was informing them about.

As posted by an employee in the active thread and its wikipost:

2. Our computers tell us if one is an authorized user. (Your AAdvantage number and cardholder in good standing). -jd
Admirals Club personnel will look up your record by your FFN. If your card has expired or you have closed the Citi account you have no access rights and will likely be rejected and possibly be publicly embarrassed. The Club is kept up by Citi to prevent freeloading by onetime cardholders no longer in good standing.

The access denial if you have cancelled your card is stated explicitly in the card terms and conditions. (Those may be found in and linked to in the existing thread, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...er-thread.html.)

The primary cardmember will earn 10,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs) after spending $40,000 in purchases that post to cardmember's January through December billing statements.
This may be a dumb question, but I just want to be sure, because it may matter for me this year.

Is my "January statement" the one I receive in January?
I receive my statement of the 15th of each month. So on Jan. 15th, I have my statement which covers 12/15/15 - 1/15/16 (+/- a day or two).

Does EVERYTHING count on that statement towards my 2016 $40K spend?
We spent more than usual end of December, so that's why I'm asking. It will be a significant boost to start the year.

Yes, it's 100% by the statement close date [which is almost always the same as the month you receive it, even if you're counting postal mail receipt which adds a couple days.] So if the spend is in (say) Dec 2015 but the statement closes in Jan 2016, that counts toward the 2016 spend.

Conversely, of course, it mans you have to hit the spend for the year by the Dec statement close, so on your first year you have that (plus whatever additional difficulty reaching the goal comes from not starting the card exactly on a year boundary.)

2 Questions about using the Free Day Passes (Not the $50 purchased day pass) that you get for signing up for the Citi AAdvantage Credit Card:

1) Has anyone had luck or been able to use an expired pass? If so, how long after the expiration date? I have one pass that Expires on Feb 8, 2016 and I'll be traveling on Feb 9th and wondering if I would be able to use it for lounge access or if they are strict in following the expiration dates?

2) Can you bring a guest with you using One of these free passes? I know on the back in the fine print it says One Pass for One Guest, but if you look on the website (https://www.aa.com/i18n/travelInform...Membership.jsp) in the traveling with a guest section:
Traveling with a guest?

As long as you’re accompanying your guests, you’re allowed 2 guests or immediate family* if you’re an:
Admirals Club Member
AirPass Member with Admirals Club access privileges
Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive primary card member
30 Day Membership
Citi Prestige Card holder**

You’re allowed 1 guest if you’re a First Class passenger or oneworld® Emerald or Sapphire.

*Immediate family refers to spouse, domestic partner and/or children under 18 years
of age

So, I am EXP = Oneworld Emerald, so does that mean I can bring a guest using one of these passes, or is that only for the purchased $50 day pass? Any thoughts?

Thanks.
