This is old but an FYI

AA 176 on 1/2/18 was canceled due to maintenance. It looked like the incoming AA175 was canceled.

Looks like people on affected flights were put on AA60 (later NRT-DFW flight) or rerouted through ORD and LAX or HND-LAX. Interestingly, it seemed the NRT-:LAX flight might have been a 77W based on the seat map in expert flyer.

AA 457 PHL-CLT delayed today 1 hour, captain actually said it was due to waiting on an expensive cargo shipment of wine. We got to the gate at 6:00, I sprinted from B12 at CLT and got to E7 at 6:08, door closed as expected and plane still sitting there, was able to reroute to STL and will have to rent a car and drive home, hopefully anyway.

AA2975 (LAX-RNO) divert to SMF

Does anyone know why this LAX-RNO flight diverted into SMF today?

So, of course, the pilot simply decide Sacramento would be a better place to spend the afternoon??
It is interesting the Allegiant flight scheduled to arrive before and the United flight scheduled to arrive just 7 minutes later didn't have this weather issue.

Oh, wait, the Allegiant flight was late bv an hour and 8 minutes

my comment was meant sarcastically due to the typical weather here in RNO. That said, it is interesting - other flights have been landing/departing without issue it seems

Weather could mean a lot of things. Different aircraft and configurations such as type, load, etc. have different limitations on such things as wind velocity, gusts and crosswind components, etc.

AA870 - Diverted/Cancelled

I see AA870 was diverted to MIA and subsequently cancelled. Can anyone determine the reason behind the diversion/cancellation?

Seems to be due to some kind of maintenance issue ... do not know what exactly though.

I looked it up on EF and looked at the notes, and the only part I can decipher is they keep saying "A/C MAINTENANCE" over and over, but that seems to be more about after the diversion that the cause of it (it's the reason for the lack of return of the plane MIA-PHL).
