AAdvantage Hack
 

I recently attempted to log into my American Airlines Account and was denied access. After over an hour of being bounced around the different customer services areas, I went through an authentication process that would have made the interrogators at Guantanamo proud. Evidently American Airlines has been hacked - "Loyalty" accounts emptied. American has not provided any additional information - check your accounts and let friends know they need to check as well, is AA trying to keep this quiet?

Sorry to hear your account got hacked, but this is by no means systemic. Most likely, you failed to keep your account information secure. "Guantanamo" hyperbole notwithstanding, I suggest you change your passwords (on both AAdvantage and any other account where you use similar usernames/passwords) and give AA all the info they need to confirm the breach and restore your miles.
