QR / Qatar Airways: Earn & Redeem AA Miles, Award [ARCHIVE]
I have read several posts that have talked about viewing the availability of Qatar flights using miles on the BA website because they sponsored Qatar into the OneWorld program. I know Qatar comes into the system on Oct 30. I wish to flyer Qatar early next year and would like to see the potential availability. When I go to the BA site I cannot find a way to see this. In a similar manner, when I go to the AA website and look at the availability of flights by redeeming miles I can see on the calender what is available (not Qatar) for most of the One World airlines.
Does anyone know how to do this with Qatar on the BA website? Thanks, RickS |

It is of course far too late to find an award for early next year, and QR is not generous with awards in any case. It sometimes releases seats for Mondays or Tuesdays and nothing else. As a test you can look for DOH-ORD, July 7, one way, business. I was looking at that a few minutes ago and there is QR availability. |
Qatar Availability
As a response to my question, the previous post mentioned he found Qatar flight availability in July for Business class. Was that using the Qatar Frequent Flyer program on the flight or was it a flight purchase? If frequent flyer, how do you access that data on the Qatarairways site?
Do you think I could call Qatar amd ask them the availability of flights using their milage program? Thanks, Rick |

Just a week before joining oneWorld, and Qatar Airways today announced service to Miami. Four weekly 777s start June 1st.

DRDM will only kick in November 15 and will continue until Jan. 31, with the Christmas period blacked out (source). They've been more generous in the past... oh well. |
Fortunately my travel will be after 15 November and before Christmas -- phew!

I was able to search for DOH-DXB award flights till last week on ba.com but suddenly I am not able to do that. Any insights?

Yeah, it's the same low earning in discount Y as with MH. I'll resort to buying their I fares: from here to HKT for 1500 Euros? For that kind of money I'll sit in Y everywhere else.
