Just made EXP / Executive Platinum! Resources, ask questions, brag (2018+)
First, a hearty welcome to Executive Platinum status!
New Executive Platinum members, whether "self-made", via your Concierge Key nomination or made by AA offers, including challenges, to similar status holders from competing airlines, often have questions about how the program works.
Feel free to post your questions here, but also be aware many of your questions about American Airlines, AAdvantage and Executive Platinum status can be answered in these resources:

Another year of Exec Plat today, earlier than usual (usually Nov/Dec time frame) Total money spent $9,666.53. Not too bad (esp since I don't travel for work anymore)!

I honestly don't know why AA even requires segments or EQM's. Cash is king and the amount a passenger spends is what matters to AA. Just one tier EQD should suffice.

First time as EXP. Was PLT from 2013-2017 and PRO late 2017-2018. Have had miserable upgrade as a PRO (usually in the 50th percentile on the airport upgrade list). Lets see how EXP affects it

re qualified Sunday. Have multiple domestic runs, and one more TATL this year. And I was not trying. Mrs boerne requalifies 10-28, and I can assure you she was not trying.

I just made EXP a few weeks ago, so I am just trying to burn through some miles instead of spending cash. My question is, If I book a flight with Miles, am I still able to use Same Day flight changes at no cost being an EXP?

Worst case, you can redeposit the miles and then rebook with miles but Im sure the price and availability isnt ideal doing it that way.

Ugh. Sooo close to requalifying. Id hoped my most recent flights would put me over the line, but no such luck.
Ive got a big trip next month (45k EQM + 5k EQD), so its in the bag. Still, I dont like being this close but not qualifying...
