Fare rules display better on German .com site

I was just doing a dummy booking on AA's German site and found that americanairlines.de has a beautifully clear fare rules display, including all the details split out with normal, mixed-case characters with separate lines identified by bullet points. At the moment, I can't even find the fare rules in a booking on the US site; when I have found it, I've never found AA.com having anything but THE NEAR-ILLEGIBLE WALL OF TEXT WITH NO PUNCTUATION COMPLETE SENTENCES OR OTHER HUMAN READABLE NICETIES.

Nice to see that AA has the software developed to display fare rules nicely; would be great if they'd adopt the capability for the US site. The fact that they haven't might make a cynic think that they're deliberately making fare rules difficult for customers to access and are only doing so in Europe because of some regulatory requirement (or am I missing it in the booking process on the US site?).

This quite literally has nothing to do with AA and everything to do with Sabre. They developed and use Sabre for the bulk of their distribution. Sabre is much much older than Amadeus, and was developed in the era where travel agents were how you bought a ticket, so it was never designed to be “customer facing” per-se. It’s really a miracle you can see anything beyond fare buckets and fare basis codes on any given Sabre output.

(Speaking as a travel agent who uses Sabre)

Agreed it’s horrible. Some at my agency send the gobbledygook Sabre flight schedule to clients, whereas I type it all out or use UMapped, etc.

its efficient, just not pretty
