Thanks. This makes sense, as it is the very definition of rolling. Do you have any insight into how this will work in practice? Specifically, what is the relevant date for determining the rolling total to use in assigning upgrades? Date of booking? Date of request? Date when applied? Since the upgrade can happen at any time before boarding concludes and rolling EQDs change daily, this adds a new level of uncertainty.
Also, will AA add an additional counter to make it easy to track this, or will we be on our own to keep up to date?

I've heard you can call AA and they will be able to tell you your EQD, but I've heard what they tell you is wrong, so that's not helpful.
If you don't mind doing the legwork, when you go to your activity and select a date range for a year, then you can add up all the EQDs.

I fooled around and got A-List (25 flights) on WN too, but I doubt that will happen next year. Im going to probably not fly WN much next year.
I have three more one ways on AA (all nonstop) that cost around $750. I will end up close to $16k it looks like.
I get upgraded ~70% of the time. I was on a flight from BDL to CLT that had THREE CKs in the 3 of the 4 first class seats on a 737. I was 24th for the upgrade list as an EXP. Ive never seen anything like it. Must have been a week long meeting ending of some heavy travelers.

I will finish the year a bit above 12k EQD as well, all personal flying. I am at 80-90% upgrade rate with the new system, I used to be 100% before this year, flying out of a hub.

$19,900 EQD and that's what I will end at as I don't have any more trips after the one I am on. I get just about every domestic upgrade that I wait list for, and have been able to use all of my SWU's pretty easily.
