Quickest way to get 66 miles?

So I want to book a travel that requires 115k miles. My balance is 114,934.
My next CC miles won't be posted for another 10 days.
Is there a quick way to get miles with AA? For example for Mileage plus if you use the MPX app the miles are instant.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yeah. Besides a flight today or tomorrow to post next day that's really it. Or just keep putting the flight on hold. Its a 5-day hold

AA has complimentary 5 day hold on award tickets. That will get you half way there.
You can then decide whether to buy the miles on day 5 or take a chance that the seats will go back into inventory when the hold expires and put them on another 5 day hold.

Thanks everyone. Yeah I am probably just gonna buy 1000 miles for 30 bucks!

on a separate note, does anyone know how long it will take to get the 10% back on mileage tickets with AA Aviator?

FYI, with tax and a $30 processing charge, that 1,000 miles will cost $61.71.

My recollection is the 10% give back is essentially instant when they post the mileage redemption to your account.

Are you SPG Plat? Do you have 66 starpoints? If so, you can transfer 66 points to AA

10% discount is processed at time of redemption of miles, it's part of the transaction.

It is, but you must have the entire amount in your account regardless.

115K award - you will get the 10K back, but you can't have just 105 and do it.

Piggybacking on this - several hotel chains have transfers with AA

Without reviewing all of them, I thought most had a minimum transfer level (like 1000). And some may not be instant, giving the stipulation that the points could take up to xx days. If the trip is important, it makes sense to just spend the $$ to buy the points.

First, I would check if you can transfer points from one of AA's partners. If that is not an option, I would put it on hold for 5 days and take a quick r/t on Saturday or something. Not sure where you are based, but here are a few quick/cheap r/t flights that will put you over on this Saturday.

$159 DFW Based
AA1210 10:30 am DFW-MSP 12:50 pm
AA1210 1:40 pm MSP-DFW 4:20 pm

$131 ORD Based
AA1409 12:10 pm ORD-MSP 1:35 pm
AA1409 2:25 pm MSP-ORD 4 pm

$179 MIA Based
AA1011 7:05 am MIA-LGA 10:05 am
AA1366 4:25 pm LGA-MIA 7:55 pm

Or if you are a skier/snowboarder like myself, weekend flights to DEN/RNO/SLC from most of the country is reasonably priced. LAX-MMH isn't out of control either. LAS is cheap as well if that is more your style.

I don't like buying miles because it is a terrible purchase from a cost per mile point of view. However, this is a good option if you don't want any hassle.

I got my 10% back instantly upon redeeming 2 J awards for a total of 105K miles.

Wouldn't it be easier and quicker to use your Aadvantage card and buy $66 worth of something, like groceries?
