That route has never been affected and features full normal catering including a shockingly good wine list. One of the few AA flights I'd willingly fly any more.

From 3 weeks ago...

Any word on, or has anyone had any recent experience with LAX-HNL flights? Leaving Sunday and trying to figure out what to expect.

That, in and of itself, is enjoyable how? The jetlag?

LAX-CLT yesterday at 6am... FA passed out boxes w/ a small cold turkey wrap, a hard-boiled egg, and a very small plastic container w/ maybe 10 blueberries in it. Got an e-mail ahead of time alerting me and a $50 travel voucher.

Not complaining, just relaying the facts. The FA on the flight was excellent.

Lax-hkg 12/7-12/10

LAX-HKG in J on 12/7
No pre-order on food
"Quick-printed" menu (not on AA stock paper), no wines listed
Had the sea bass (not mutant and no frickin laser beams) and I found it pretty good
Offered "red or white" wine (rut-roh, shades of last months flight) from the cart but that was just to determine which set of wines to offer. I think for red it was a Shiraz and a Pinot
Mid flight, I asked for and quickly received a corned beef sandwich
Breakfast appeared to be either continental or a meat/egg meal. Still full so I passed on breakfast.
Side note, fantastic cabin crew, so good that I complimented them in the galley area.

HKG-LAX in J 12/10
Pre-ordered lamb selection for dinner.
Avocado Mango smoothies served with breakfast (I had 2, very tasty)
No apparent changes for the HKG catering.
Side note, while waiting to board, same cabin crew showed up and we had a bit of a reunion in the gate area, Great service in the way back.

Casper bedding and PJ's on both flights. I personally like the new bedding/pillows much more than the prior versions.

I took LAX-HKG-LAX 12/10-12/13 (Business class)
I had almost similar experience.
The differences were
There was no smoothies on both in/outbound flights.
There was no Casper mattress on outbound flight.
