FA Galaxy Notes Hand Held / Handheld Device Symbols Meaning - Color Coding

Today a FA placed a hand-held terminal right in front my eyes on a food cart and I had plenty of time to observe it. While a green seat indicates an EXP/OWE, there were three blue seats in the MCE area with a small red star in each of them. Also, there were 3 pax ahead of me on the upgrade list; nobody was upgraded. Does it mean that a red star stands for CK?

Why did you not ask the FA if you're so curious? Never hurts to ask

isn't red Ruby?

I think CK is kind of a multi colored box --- gosh I saw it once and I can't remember...I want to think it was like 1/2 green and 1/2 purple?

no, it suggests a special need, ie., Wheelchair, Blind, Deaf, or Emotional Support Animal.

Funny

This is kind of funny and kind of obnoxious on my part, I ordered some wine on a recent flight sitting in economy, the FA had that device in her hand and then asked me for payment. I told her as a concierge key I do not have to pay. And she said only executive platinum’s do not have to pay everybody else has to pay. I repeated I’m CK. She repeated only EPs do not have to pay. I said, “look up CK on your device.” She came back minutes later apologizing.

Out of curiosity, what route were you on that a CK wasn't upgraded?

50%

I fly LAX to DFW and I get upgraded about 60% of the time. Far from 100%.

TPG did a run-down on the DL handheld, which signals similar data to the FA's.

It would be cool to see the AA handheld screens in detail like this:

DFW-PHX is a route that's also become hard for EXP upgrades. With AA selling F for much cheaper on these routes, the UG space is much more limited.

...but this is O/T.
