2018 Program Year Elite Status Buyback / Renew / Boost (as of EOY 2017)
"Grace" for those close to completing status requirements has not been offered since AA began the buyback / renew / boost program.
In previous years, AA (and US) have offered those who failed to requalify for elite status the opportunity to buy back or "boost" status for the following status year. That offer was extended for the 2017 programme year, and the 2018 offering is be discussed here. E-mails have gone out to many members (16 Nov) with tailored offers. Got an offer for PLT at $1295. Current EXP, but at $5383 EQD; 39,938 EQM; 37 EQS.
I wonder if a call to customer service sharing my 111,354 Delta MQM/$17k spend may influence the offer. Anyone ever try leveraging status with another carrier for a renewal? I will make Diamond this year.

Currently EXP, now 88000 EQM and 8000 EQD.
I see two offers:
Plat Pro $1135
EXP $4155 (!)
So these offers are quite near that what I'd now need for EQD, but I'm currently booked for flights to requalify EXP.

AA's offer was that I could buy EXP for $765.
My travel is already ticketed through end of year and will put me waaaay over the EXP threshold. If I were to cancel all those flights and take AA up on their offer, it would cost far more than $765 in Change Fees. So ... thAAnk$ for the offer ... but no thAAnk$.

I do have more OW flights this month but have decided to put them into my BA account and will have their Silver/OWSapphire by month's end and Gold/OWEmerald in January. Considering my travel patterns figured it was more prudent to get BA top tier status than ExecPlat.

After several years as EXP MM, I have pretty much abandoned the idea of earning AA status (above the lifetime Gold) due to the EQD requirement.
Current status: EXP
EQD: $1,656
EQM: 45,572
EQS: 20
As of today, my offer is as follows:
AAdvantage Platinum: $1,479.00
I don't plan to go for this, because I'd rather spend it (as a free agent) on airfare.

Currently Platinum. Offer is $2,885 to get to Platinum Pro, ouch!
Currently $6328 EQD, 63k EQM, 38 segments.
Will earn another 19k EQM and 2k EQD in December for a work trip so I'm not interested in the offer (and never would be interested at $3k!). I'm sure another flight will come up to get me over the EQD.

Currently PLT with $10,800 EQD, 65,700 EQM and 60 segments.
I was offered Plat Pro for $1,345. I am going to log another $5,800 EQD and 36,300 EQMs before year end, getting me (barely) to EXP.
