+$500 New Ice Cream on AA biz

I just had the best ice cream in biz on +3hr flight that AA is going to make at least $500 more from me as I am going to books confirmed biz versus upgrade on my next flight. This sure beats the vanilla with warm chocolate fudge. Anyone know anything about this Carmel with crunchy chunks of chocolate?

I do look forward to ice cream flights and sundae flights, but my goodness -- $500 would buy you a lot of good ice cream on the ground!

If you are this motivated, be sure you know the flights where ice cream is served -- generally those labeled dinner (not lunch) and 1298-2199 miles (2200+ gets the sundae, which you didn't rave about, for both lunch and dinner). And it may not always be the particular ice cream that you liked so much.

AA has never had caramel as a sundae topping. It's butterscotch, which there is a slight culinary distinction.

However on LFS (Latin Flagship Service) to BOG/LIM and AFS (International Flagship Service) to EZE/SCL I have seen Dulce de Leche listed on the menu cards in years past.

This isn't a parody to the DL A350 product surcharge that's driving the bloggers off the wall (whatever it takes for clicks and hits I suppose)?

I'm getting "ill", contaminating "pure" vanilla ice cream...
AA use B&J on most flights--Hagen Das or Dove are much better choices, IMHO.

It's not topping, it's just some ice cream flavor. I had it on SFO-DFW last week. Whatever it is, I'll 2nd that it's pretty good.

My wife and I had the new ice cream on PHX-PHL about a month ago. We're not normally ice cream eaters but we decided to treat ourselves. It was very good. It seems to be a caramel and vanilla blend with chocolate chunks in it.

I wouldn't spend $500 extra just to get a cup of airline ice cream.

I WOULD, and *have*, spent $500 to fly to State College, PA to get a gallon of truly great ice cream at the Penn State creamery.
