There was a maintenance issue but other than that no specifics were offered.

The dates I checked before the service drops out in late March showed the cheapest economy fare on the non-stop as $1284 compared to $284 for a connection in LAX. That is a huge premium for avoiding LAX

I was checking flights from ORD to HNL for mid December and noticed that there are two non-stops on the days of interest. AA 75 departs ORD at 10:20 and AA 361 departs ORD at 13:45. Both flights are operated by 788's. I don't think AA has ever operated two daily non-stops from ORD to HNL in the past.

Yes, it was announced earlier this week about increased frequency this winter. Someone can find the right article to link.

great news for ORD flyers. I wish they would fly to more European destinations year round.

Indeed! And DFW-HNL/OGG/KOA are all getting more frequencies this winter, as well.

What are the major differences between a 787 and 788 ?

We are going to be flying MSP/ORD/HNL next March.

We were trying to figure out if we should book seats next to each other or back to back on a window.

This will be our first time in the lay flat seats so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

there is no difference between 787 and 788. Well 788 is 787-8 plane. ORd HNL is operated by 787-8 which has forward and backward facing seats. I would personally get 2 window seats, since there is a chance of divider that doesn’t go down in the middle section.

Thanks, would you recommend 2 forward facing seats ( with a row in between I believe) or do you think it would matter to be facing backwards, how about row #'s?

Thanks

there is a difference as 787 also encompasses the 789 and soon 78J.

Probably the nicest equipment that AA runs and you should make sure to leave room for your sundae! Aloha!

AA removed mini cabin since this article was written so it applies for rows 1-5 since nothing changed there
