Does SDFC F -> Y = Lower EQMS

Hey all...question...so if you have a fist class seat bought in APDIR inventory and you Same Day Flight Change to an Earlier flight but only get confirmed in Y...do the eqms you get match what you bought and paid for or what you flew...

Thanks

It's supposed to be based on what your original fare class was.

You'll get Y credit for the segment, and will have to call and argue to get the F credit. They will treat it as a voluntary downgrade.

That's been my experience as well. Best to call first (instead of emailing) AAdvantage Customer Service to get the appropriate F credit.

I have no doubt that things happen this way. But it seems to be at odds with the "original purchased fare class" notion for crediting EQMs. Certainly a voluntary upgrade is not due more EQM. Why should a voluntary downgrade receive fewer?

Should not be difficult to get adjusted.

Cheers.

Does anyone have any recent experience with this and can confirm what happens? Iím considering a same day flight change with a downgrade to Economy, but havenít found any actual confirmation that Iíll keep my original EQMs other than what should happen.
